On Change.

October 1, 2010

This is probably a little lofty and a little vague, but…whatever.

There is a lot of content…entertainment…media out there that is not being produced for people like us and has never been made to appeal to people like us.

We have been considerably undervalued from a commercial standpoint by those that have been in charge of creating new stuff….media…entertainment…content, etc.  Our demographics have, by and large, not been seen as being especially profitable/relevant/commercially viable, and so we have been ignored.  Underrepresented.

As a result, we have been dissatisfied.  We have been this way for a while and meanwhile, the quality of a lot of the stuff…media…entertainment…content…that we’ve been made to consume has gotten worse over the past few years.  We have become increasingly underrepresented.

But there are many of us.  We are dissatisfied.  And yet we are talented.

New models for producing, supporting, distributing our new stuff are emerging, whether people want to acknowledge that they exist or not.  And we are writing, creating, producing, executing, whether people want to believe it or not.

Whether we’ll take advantage, support and bring to light that new stuff…media…entertainment…content is something that has yet to be seen, but there can be no doubt that that new stuff will be there.

But how much do we want it?
